Newly Elected
Dorothy Henderson is the 3rd VP elect. Newly elected board members to serve 2 year terms are Kathy Rohn, Kyle Maurer, Bill K. and Andy Stack.
Congratulations and best wishes to all. Thanks for your willingness to serve.
Kiwanis International Convention
Chuck Fye reported that attendance was much larger than for many recent conventions and a good time was had by all. Colin Powell’s address was notable as you would expect. Alan Penn is the President Elect. Next year’s convention will be held in Geneva. Bob Marimon has fond memories of his Vienna Convention so don’t rule it out for your summer plans.
The new international service project will be the elimination of neonatal tetanus. Details will be forthcoming.
Crisis Averted
The renovations to schools include enclosures for the trash dumpsters. Imagine our surprise to learn that the 28 ft. enclosure at Westview was planned to sit directly in front of the Safety Town entrance. A small committee was called upon to make a recommendation and a letter was sent to the superintendent and other key people. Mr. Scott’s reply was quick and resulted in a new site location. Good job!
Sponsored Youth
Key Club is enjoying summer vacation so no report.
